Abstract

The work known as Greek Legend, from the second half of the 10th century and transmitted by a lectionary of the 11th century from the National Library of París, presents, among the legends of saints collected in it, a story about Isaiah the Prophet containing some expressions and sentences similar to those found in a Greek recension of the apocryphal text called The Ascension of Isaiah. This text includes three different writings, one of them of Jewish origin called The Martyrdom of Isaiah. The present article offers the first version in Spanish, with a short introduction, of the fragments of the Greek Legend that correspond with The Martyrdom of Isaiah.
