In this article it is published the Hebrew text of a fragment of a sephardic manuscript of the 12th century containing two pages of the treatise Kĕṯubbôṯ of the Mišnâ, a parchment bifolio re-used in 1561 as a cover of a volume preserved in the Modena State Archives. The mishnaic text is of Palestinian type. A substantial homogeneity emerges from the collation of the variant readings of the MSS Kaufmann (K) and Parma (P, De Rossi 138) with our fragment. Nevertheless, a variant reading of Modena fragment, confirmed by the consonantic text of K, seems to offer a correct and more ancient reading than the one offered by P, namely the verbal form yaḥalôqû, imperfect qal (cf. 1 Sam 30:24) with scriptio plena for the «ô», instead of the corresponding pi‛el in the transmitted text, which could show a later development.
