Abstract

It becomes quite evident that the collected materials about the Jewish ancestors of Ferdinand the Catholic do not provide an accurate information; they consist of imprecise references that have in general been copied in texts that «heuristically have never been first hand sources». The known texts refer generically to the Jewish antecedents of Ferdinand the Catholic, and some make a concrete reference to his great-great-grandmother, namely Juana Enriquez' great-grandmother. Unless other likely evidence could be adduced, the historicity of the Jewish origins of Ferdinand the Catholic must be left off, and, consequently, the notice that appears in some encyclopedia must be corrected.
