Publication of sources regarding the election of Jewish communal officers in Huescathrough the “Insaculación” system (election by lot) documented after 1455, in imitation ofthe system that was being used by the municipal government. Some procedure characteriistic sare revealed as well as the frequency in the election of communal offices; more over, lists of elected candidates and of dominant families in the community are provided. The notarial records published here are the entire totality of those preserved in the Archivo Histórico Provincial de Huesca regarding the “Insaculación” system.
