The present article comprises two parts: The first one, that includes a critical edition as well as a study of the two versions of the critical and satirical “Copla” entitled Los tiempos modernos, by the Salonican “Coplero” Sa‘adi Halevi (version A, published in seven editions printed between 1873 and 1935 in Salonica; and version B, published in 1932 in Sarajevo). In the second part of the article, the authors deal with the plagiary of these “Coplas” committed by another Salonican “Coplero,” Yacob Yona, especially in his edition and study of his “Copla” El lujo y la escasez published in 1915 in Salonica.
