Previous issues of this journal, having published news about epigraphic findings regarding the Jewish graveyard of the Castro de los Judíos in Puente del Castro (León), have underscored the importance of this community, derived from having been the Jewish settlement at the capital city of the Leonese kingdom (in the 11th and 12th c., before it was destroyed by a foreign army in 1196). Recent archaeological excavations were undertaken in 1983, before the graveyard disappeared, razed, under a new highway that was built upon it. Simultaneously, two new important epigraphic pieces of the late 11th c., analysed here with detail, have been found, if haphazardly. Additionally, details are given of the new archaeological excavations started in 1999 at the Castro's Mota.
