This article analyzes a 1428 written agreement between Abram Ambivag of Huesca and Judas Avingoyos of Jaca to resolve problems arising from the collection of debts of their credit company. It highlights some of the limitations of notarial sources for the study of Jewish credit, as tacit agreements between lender and debtor were not always spelled out in writing, and it emphasizes the need to reconsider certain aspects of the history of Jewish moneylending.
