Edward Nicholas is the pseudonymus of a Jewish author, who published in 1648 at London An Apology for the Honorable Nation of the Jews, which pleads for the return of the Jews to England, where they were expelled from 1290. The reason is that the Jews are profitable for the Republic, honorable and beloved by God. In 1649 a Spanish version appeared in Amsterdam. The author was probably Menasseh Ben Israel. The hypothesis is that the English version was published after the Spanish version.
