Abstract

This article examines eight examples of rabbinic interpretations of the first two sections («Bĕre'šît» y «Noaḥ») of Genesis Rabbah. Their commentary on the features of the text (plene or defective spelling, q ĕrê-kĕ tîb) uses a language similar to that of the masoretic notes. After verifying these examples in masoretic lists and treatises, the author analizes the function of these interpretations in the exegesis of the two sections. This research proves that the exegetical purpose of these examples is different from other interpretations of Genesis Rabbah based on peculiarities of the text.
