Abstract

This article includes a transcribed edition of the text of the copla Las hazañas de los macabeos (a Hanukkah poem), based on two nineteenth-century editions written in aljamía. The oldest version (1828-1829) is written in block script with vowel points, although the more recent version (1879-1880) is written in Rashi script without vowel points. The copla is eighty quatrains in length and has alternate rhyme, and is divided into ten stages or parts, a structure analyzed in a previous article.
