The present article exams how Alfonso de Valladolid defends the concept of the Trinity in his book Libro de la ley. In order to situate this defense in its Medieval Judeo-Christian polemic context the comments on Alfonso's text are preceded by a brief description of how this polemic focused its arguments, on both the Jewish and Christian side, over the Trinity theme. The observations on Alfonso's text deal primarily with the Kabbalistic themes the author used to support his arguments, the accusation Alfonso waged against the Jews of having «covered up» their true belief in the Trinity, and Alfonso's view of the historical trend that leads humanity to the Trinity's revelation.
