This paper begins a series of articles aiming at the identification of the pottery mentioned in the Hebrew Old Testament, through the textual analysis of versions and commentators, taking into account other related languages; finally these articles try to determine whether the term for the types provided by excavations is apropiate or not. About fifty-six terms will be analysed in alphabetical order (in Hebrew), including those which do not have a well defined translation. A drawing of the type referred to is given whenever possible. Some post-graduates of the «Departamento de Estudios Hebreos de la Universidad Complutense» collaborate in this study.
