The author presents here the account of the history of the research and the results obtained within the frame of the national project of registering and cataloguing the fragments of Hebrew manuscripts used for binding books. Up to now, more than 5,SOO fragments of the 11th-15th century from the so-called «Italian Gěnîzâ» have been registered. Very significant discoveries are presented, among them, tens of folios containing the Mišnâ, hundreds with the Talmûḏ and with various liturgical works and biblical commentaries unknown hitherto; among them, the remains of the authentic commentary to the Tôrâ. of Yosef Qara. In the second part of this article, the text of an unknown Hebrew translation of Yônâ ibn Ğanaḥ's Sefer ha-Šorašîm is published.
