Medieval Hebrew poetry, Arabic metrics, Ibn Nagrela, al-AndalusAbstract
The aim of this study is to identify and to explain the variants of the metrical repertory recorded in the collection Ben Tehillim by Semuel Ibn Nagrela using medieval theories ( ͑ilm al- ͑arūḍ). Therefore this analysis casts aside traditional manuals or studies devoted to medieval Hebrew metrics, whether modern or medieval, because my goal is to show the use of this metrics in its original context as reflected in medieval Arab manuals.
