The community of converted Jews is analyzed in Soria, a Castilian town that until 1492 had had a large Hebrew population. In a first approach, the author highlights a trend among the members of that community to concentrate their dwellings in specific city quarters, and subsequently points out the spheres of economic life where, after the decree sanctioning their expulsion from Castile, the Sorian converted Jews particularly excelled -commerce, tax-farming and lending- which were, coincidentally, more often than not, the same as in former times. On the other hand, an effort is made throughout the article to identify the members of the Sorian Jewish community in the 16th century, who, hitherto, were practically unknown.
